Nicholas County Circuit Clerk

​Elected official responsible for maintaining the records of the Circuit Court.  The Circuit Clerk's office is also responsible for issuing drivers licenses, learner permits, driver testing, and issuing non-driver photo identification cards.

Graduated Licensing Program

Testing for a Learner's Permit is held at 1 p.m. the First, Third and Fifth (as appropriate) Thursdays of each month.  Call for more information.

The skills test may not be taken until 180 days after receiving a Learner's Permit.  Skills tests are held beginning at 8:30 a.m. the First, Third and Fifth (as appropriate) Thursdays of each month.  ALL Road Test are limited, this includes Motorcycle Applicants.  In-County residents will be tested first.  There are special requirements to take the skills test that are provided when you get your Learner's Permit.
